The main downside to running a Pi based system rather than a full PC setup is some games (mostly newer 3d games) don't run great on RPi, eg. Most games will run at correct res and refresh rate just like on Groovy MAME.

Other emulators require a semi decent graphics card to run properly. I make the RaspberryJAMMA hardware and ARpiCADE software so am biased, but it's a great solution. All games benefit from a decent overclocked I7. It runs noticeably better on faster CPUs.

They're good for making mini arcades but there is no reason to use one in a full size cab IMO. The advantage of a Raspberry Pi is that it's small and cheap. Using epoxy putty is probably slightly less hassle than making a whole new panel. I always keep some on my shelf for that kind of thing. It will be more than enough for what you need with some to spare for other projects. Order a trial pot of Free Form Air from Smooth-on. You can use epoxy putty to fill-in and re-drill any poorly placed holes. Please be gentle, it's my first attempt at project like this.

If I am adding additional buttons is it better to piece everything together myself using a pi 3b+, a signal converter for the CRT and an iPac4? Also as you can see in the pic, I can't really add more buttons because in the past, it appears someone covered over old holes and added new ones. What I am unsure of is the addition of more buttons. I looked over at the Arpicade sold at highscoresave and had a phone convo with the owner and I really like the fact that they have a clean 4 player solution so I don't have to cut up the jamma harness and it comes to me mostly ready to plug in and go. Obviously I will need to add buttons to do this and I am ok with this since it's not a nice dedicated cab. What I want: A Pi setup that allows me to play all of the Konami 4 player games and the ability to play most emulated games(SNES, arcade fighting) using 6 buttons on the center 2 player stations. I am recapping it but I want to keep the CRT going forward. Everything works great minus some finicky monitor issues I believe to be cold solder joints. Recently picked up a Konami 4 player cab with an original TMNT PCB, K7000 Monitor, and a control panel that appears to have been changed over at some point in its past(See attachment).
